Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck and Banzai Beach
July 24, 2019
After visiting Kualoa Ranch (read the post here) and enjoying some delicious lychees (read about lychees here), I decided to finish off my trip to Hawaii with some authentic Hawaiian food and sunset. Although technically not my last day on Oahu, my last full day was used to prepare for my voyage to Australia!
From Kualoa Ranch, I continued north until I reached Kahuku where I stopped for an early dinner at the infamous Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck. For those that know me well, you might be thinking, “Andrea you don’t eat fish!” And that’s right! I ordered their only non-fish option of a garlic hotdog with rice. It was pretty good, a bit greasy, but tasty! The prices could not be beaten at only $3.50!
After my quick dinner pitstop, I continued around the North Shore until I reached Banzai Pipeline. It was still a bit early for the sunset, but I spent my time walking up and down the beach, watching surfers catch some gnarly waves, and a newlywed couple have their photos taken.
The sunset was so stunningly beautiful that I wish it never ended. Its end symbolized the end of my chapter of adventure on Oahu and my last day in the USA. I had a marvelous time seeing parts of the country that I have never seen before and created lasting memories.
I would like to thank my hosts again for letting me stay with them, use their car, and offering their invaluable advice while on Oahu. I could not have met a kinder, more generous couple! They truly made my time on Oahu unforgettable! Thank you!
As this chapter of my adventures comes to a close, I am thankful for the memories I created and the wonderful people I have met along the way. The journey only continues as I jet off to my next destination…Australia!
